Everywhere I read that Wasaga Beach is said to have the longest beach on fresh water in the world. 14 km long. I can not verify that \and I did not want to run that far. But I can confirm that the beach is very nice. I could never bathe, since I was there the first time in the wrong season.
Wasaga Beach is located on a promontory between Georgian Bay and the "Nottawasaga River".
The beach itself is maintained by "Ontario Parks" and is also known as "Wasaga Beach Provincial Park".
The place Wasaga Beach has about 20 000 inhabitants.

I do not want that you to think we have forgotten Wasaga Beach. We came back. Even in the right season - but unfortunately on a "long weekend".
After we realized that everything was overcrowded and we ended in a traffic jam and all parking lots were filled, we fled. It was worse than what we had experienced on the lakes in Bavaria.
Luckily we still had some nice days at Georgian Bay during this trip.

I also saw some Canadian movies which were filmed here. I would not necessarily look at these films again. But I'm happy to come back to Wasaga Beach. This time again in the summer - but not on a long weekend.
I hope I do not have to list everything again, what you can do there and that there are also accommodations and you do not have to starve to death.

Wasaga Beach is very much dependent on tourism and strives hard to offer what makes the place so appealing to many visitors, especially youngsters.
These include a number of varied events spread over the year and a wide range of winter sports. You can even take part in a blueberry tour.
In nearby Elmvale there is a small zoo.
