Weiden surrounded by nature - many thanks to "Fotograf Alois Schröpf" and Wikipedia
Weiden is world famous for its porcelain. In honor of this the "Internationales Keramik Museum" was established in 1990.
We just had purchased dishes, cups, bowls etc. In a store in Ebersberg. Furthermore I thought it is less dangerous and cheaper to see beautiful porcelain and ceramics in a museum than in a store. So we visited this museum. I think I made the right proposal.
We could not only see creations from Germany or Europe om display. Even products from far a away were shown
The museum is located in the so called "Waldsassener Kasten" a baroque building which was once also used as a prison.
There is still a porcelain manufacturing industry in Weiden.

No party took place when we did our sightseeing tour through Weiden.
We collected some printed information in order not to miss too much. You should do the same!
Sometimes I lost Elizabeth and had to walk back. Luckily I always found her - either in a store or just looking at something.
We passed the "Stadtmuseum" (town museum) which was in a building called the old school house.
We decided that one museum a day is enough.

After having been in the museum and walking around we needed a break. We used that to study the printed information more carefully.
We decided that we had done enough walking and sightseeing and should find an accommodation and relax.
We picked up our car and checked some of the places where we wanted to stay for one night.
On our way we saw for the first time a church which was converted into something else. This happened now also in Welland.
Below we installed a link to a video which shows a sightseeing tour through Weiden.

Please expect something like that!
We were lucky and found a nice pension which is the equivalent to a B & B with a private bathroom.
After talking to our hosts we decided to spend a few hours in the "Freizeitzentrum-Weiden".
I left my camera in the pension what I regretted when we arrived at this fun and health temple. But the pictures would have been lost anyhow during the break in Canada.
Elizabeth does not like cold water and she was surprised how warm it was. She used the water slide, we visited the sauna and naturally the pools.
Have you ever practised Aqua - Jogging? You can do it there.
We became addicted to spas after that visit. A proof you can find in our Internet travel guide for Thuringia. For that I could use my own pictures.
This spa was the highlight of our visit to Weiden and we were surprised that a town of 42 000 people has something like this. In Thuringia even small villages have similar spas. We both wish that we would have at least one comparable one in Southern Ontario.
