Coat of arms Unterallgäu

Map of the Unterallgäu Region:

The "Unterallgäu" is the region where the well known pastor Kneipp was born. His cures are accepted by many people in Europe.
Please use the Internet to learn more about him and his treatments using water. But also ask for information where such cures are offered in case that you are interested.
It is your decision whether you want to try it. So far we only did a few exercises based on his theory and we liked it, but we never followed a complete program.

"Fuggerschloss" in Kirchheim - many thanks to "Pahu" and Wikipedia
The "Zedernsaal" in the castle- many thanks to "Patrick Huebgen" and Wikipedia

The "Unterallgäu" combines natural beauty with culture and history.
Even in little villages you will be pleasantly surprised with the unexpected.
Two examples, just drive to Kirchheim and to Babenhausen.
The rich Fugger family left in each of the places a castle. Offspring of the Fugger family are still living in the Kirchheim castle. For that reason only the "Zedernsaal" is open to the public.
The "Fuggers" were the most powerful people in medieval times.
Jakob Fugger the founder of the empire created the first "low cost housing quot; project in Augsburg. After destruction during WWII and renovation it is still used and an attraction. Visit our site for Augsburg!
