The Ringberg resort is certainly also a great place for children. Not only because there is a nice playground, but also because of the surroundings. They can play outdoor games instead of watching TV or staying addicted to computer games.
Also the indoor swimming pool should attract them. During my visit in the morning most children were still at school or in the kindergarten which just to mention it - was created in Thuringia.
Elizabeth tried "Nordic Walking" which is very popular in Europe even when some people who think they know everything better make fun out of it. However, to give those critics no chance you must learn it, similar to skiing. Not using the walking sticks properly will not bring the promised effects on you body.

The Thuringian forest is also a paradise for everybody who loves downhill skiing, cross country skiing and other winter activities except snowmobiling. Snowmobiling is banned for public use.
But just walking can be fun and when you enjoy after a view hours in the fresh cold air some special energizing drinks you may slip in a very cozy mood. Just ask your waiter for some of the specialties. Also a visit to the sauna will be an excellent idea to spend a few relaxing hours. But please be aware of the dress code in German saunas - you must go in the nude and bring a huge towel with you to sit on. It is a health treatment and not a beauty contest - so do not be ashamed. After the first trial you will feel comfortable and love it. Also try to have some conversation with other guests. The Ringberg Hotel is also a prefered meeting point. My son sent me this image. Corvette fans from all of Europe came 2008 to this beautiful location in Thuringia.
