We lived very close to this region and whenever we wanted to avoid heavy traffic on long weekends or we wanted to explore something new, we came to this area. However, I must admit - we missed too many places.
There are so many things to see and to discover that we always found the days too short to take in all the sights.
Whether visiting historical towns, doing some shopping (which was one of Elizabeth's favorite pastimes), participating in local events or just plain sightseeing, our days and nights were always
filled. Couch potatoes we were not even though one of our favorite hobbies is reading, both novels and for me also some more serious literature.

Here you will find a very unique museum in Haag
Haag is located very close to Zorneding were we lived in Germany.
It has a long and interesting history. You will learn more about it when you visit the museum and spend some time there. I do not want to copy all the information.
Kraiburg on the river Inn was another place which we had visited several times. We discovered the place shown below. It was an old machine shop which sharpened knives etc. using water power.
I hope that the attempts to renovate it and open it to the public will be successful. I love to see things like that and was impressed what I discovered in Ohrdruf (Thuringia). Just use the installed link to this Internet travel guide! |
