Whoever thinks that Bavarians are all fat, beer drinking people with no brain who do not enjoy anything besides yodeling and Um -pa-pamusic have been proven wrong.
The two southern states of Germany - Bavaria and Baden-Wurtemberg are both high-tech countries.
The aerospace and automotive industry are only a few examples. I would love to know where Volkswagen would be today without having taken over innovative companies such as Audi in Ingolstadt or NSU in Neckarsulm (Baden Wurtemberg). They needed this transfusion of new ideas badly at this time.
We never have visited the Audi plant. I am sure that they will also provide guided tours and many information about the history of these famous automobiles.
