Map of the Fürstenfeldbruck Region:
We lived close to this region and for that reason we were frequent visitors of this area.
The main reason was that I have a friend who lived in Olching and his wife had a wine business. I did lots of free wine tasting and I got really good wines from Italy.
Because you never should drink wine on an empty stomach, we had cheese, excellent salami imported from Switzerland and his homemade tomato soup, a true delicacy and nothing like the typical canned tomato soup. Unfortunately, I lost the recipe for this soup and my friends have moved away in the meantime.
Carnival parade in Olching - many thanks to "Morepowerigor" and Wikipedia
We did not attend this carnival parade in Olching. But similar to Welland antique vehicles are always a part of such events.
Shown her is a "slightly" modified "Messerschmitt Kabinenroller" which was built in the fifties. it had a 2-stroke 200 ccm engine and if you were a dare devil you could drive it not only forward at maximum speed but also backward. I tell you that is an unforgettable experience.

Wenigmünchen - many thanks to "User:Zinnmann" and Wikipedia
In Wenigmünchen you can see this Calvary scene. Jesus in the center between the two thieves.
Similar to Martyr's Shrine in Midland, Ontario you will find 14 stations about the suffering of Jesus. The different scenes are painted on stone.
This place was not as crowded as Martyr's Shrine and also not so commercialized. As far as I know also no pope had ever visited it.
The little chapel is dedicated to Apolonia. Please search the Internet for more details information about her - I am not a catholic and never have heard anything about her.
Most local people in Upper Bavaria are catholics and especially in the country side the church is still strong. elizabeth attended some services even when she could not understand too much.

The "Emmeringer See" - many thanks to "Richard Huber" and Wikipedia
Der "Emmeringer See" is a quarry in Emmering. Many people come to this place for swimming and sun bathing. Even little boats are used and wind surfers could be seen.
Whenever Elizabeth saw such a lake, she told me that this is not a lake but only a pond. Nevertheless she enjoyed many of those ponds. Most of them had very clean washrooms and you also could get food and drinks including alcoholic beverages.
However, we did not swim in this "pond".
