Many thanks to the unknown creator of this important map
Elizabeth and I came to this area to visit Burghausen and its famous castle. We tried to see Burghausen, Altötting and some of the smaller villages all in the same day. That was "a little bit" too much.
So we decided to come back another weekend. We never did because I was called back to Canada.
The region is located north of the "Chiemgau" which is the area around the Chiemsee.
The rivers Inn and Salzach have been used in the past for transportation of goods. Today, trains and trucks replaced that and the rivers are used for pleasure boat trips.
We really regret that we couldn't spend more time in Mühldorf, Waldkraiburg and in some of the other villages that we passed during this trip.
We have seen so many interesting places and beautiful architecture, but we were too late to spend the required time.
We both hope that we can visit this area again. Then we can also make our own pictures. Most of them were lost during a breakin.
