Elizabeth and I came to this area to visit Burghausen and its famous castle. We tried to see Burghausen, Altötting and some of the smaller villages all in the same day.
Naturally that was too much. So we decided to come back another weekend. We never did because I was called back to Canada.
The region is located north of the "Chiemgau" which is the area around the Chiemsee.
The rivers Inn and Salzach have been used in the past for transportation of goods. Today, trains and trucks are used.
We really regret that we couldn't spend more time in  Mühldorf, Waldkraiburg and in some of the other villages that we passed.
We have seen so many interesting places and beautiful architecture, but we we were too late to spend the required time.
Whenever we return to Bavaria we definitely will visit this area again.
