A visit to the "Pummpälz Hiking Trail" in Thuringia
Part 2

On this page we show pictures from scenery of the "Pummpälzweg". Some are from us - others from Mr. Werner Wolf.

A little pond with water lilies
A good place for a rest

Horse back riding is still popular

A detailed map of the trail is without any doubt a great help. You can identify the sections you want to visit and it shows also the small access roads.
Waiting for a treat?

A little village

Feeling hungry or thirsty? Check for a typical local "Gasthof" (restaurant)
Great scenery

Don't eat those mushrooms - it could be your last supper!

I personally thought that very much is done for little kids. To make walking or hiking more attractive to them an old structure will be converted into a little castle for them. It is hidden in the right picture.
Soon children will find here a castle full of surprises

Most of the carving was done by students and is related to local legends
If you like the Black Forest, you will also love the Thuringian Forest

The Thuringian Forest is green - not too many pine trees! It is not yet a crowded as the well known Black Forest and prices are much more reasonable.

Naturally, the "Pummpälzweg" is also open in winter. Thuringia offers many winter sport activities and I am sure that you will be able to rent somewhere equipment for cross country skiing.
Always something to discover
