Aschering, Maising, Niederpöcking, Possenhofen, Jägersbrunn and Seewiesen form also a part of Pöcking.
The attraction of tiny little Possenhofen on Lake Starnberg is the "Sisi-Schloß", a castle which was built in 1511 and where Elisabeth (Sisi) the later empress of Austria grew up.
The castle has along history which you can explore using the Internet. We just looked at it from the outside because of financial reasons it has finally been converted into condos.
If you always wanted to see paradise, you can do this here. The former park of the castle had been converted into a resort which is called "das Paradies". Sometimes it is a very crowded paradise.

If you want it quieter and love to watch birds go to the conservation area at the "Maisinger See" - a pond according to Elizabeth. This is a little refuge for many birds.
Relax after a walk in the beer garden.

Elizabeth did not know that carp is a delicacy in Germany as well as in some other European countries. When we traveled to "Aisch an der Aisch " in Upper Franconia she had her fist dish of fried carp. She loved it so much that she ordered a second portion.
The area around Aisch is well know for its carp.
We were not aware that the Maisinger See was an artificial lake which was created by the monks from Andechs in 1680 to grow fish there. At this time this "pond" was larger.
The carp of this lake were also well know as I learned. Today this very shallow lake is not any longer actively used as a fish farm.
Unfortunately, I do not have any longer a picture of Elizabeth eating carp.
Fresh carp should only be prepared in months which have the letter "r" in its name.
