When I was young and lived in Nuremberg, I explored many of them at this time.
With Elizabeth we did not have enough time to see many of them. I wanted to show her more of this region which is so different to her favorite part with the Alps.
In Parsberg we visited the castle with its museum which was started by two teachers. It showed many things about this area. I had to do much explaining.
We relaxed by pulling of the road and enjoying plain nature. Elizabeth always discovered some wild flowers and little creatures to which she talked in English.

Explore medieval Berching. Don't miss to go the "Main-Donau-Kanal". Check with the tourist office before you go wether you can participate in a boat trip. We missed that. Consider to stay in Berching - there is so much sightseeing to do.
