Visit the historical downtown and spend time to exploring the original remains of the town wall, the towers and the gates.
Memmingen suffered also damage during WWII similar as many other cities in Germany. Most of the flattened historical buildings have been reconstructed, such as the "Siebendächerhaus" (house with seven roofs). (see below)
Other parts of the medieval downtown were lucky. The structures of the town wall with its towers and gates are still original.
Without reading signs or printed information we never would have been able to the difference.
