A part of this community are the villages of Bachern, Buch, Schlagenhofen and Stegen. That means that this community is located on two lakes - the Ammersee and the Wörthsee.
When we traveled through this area, I told Elizabeth the story of a friend who lived in Herrsching who was an avid sailor and from him I got the idea of owning my own sailboat.
I showed her the Wörthsee and told her that years ago a company from Munich was displaying and selling sailboats there. They even allowed me to take a test drive on my own. With having no knowledge of sailing, I got a boat and "sailed" on the lake. Nobody realized my poor performance because of missing wind.
Naturally, Elizabeth compared the Wörthsee again with Lake Erie and told me that this is only a pond which is like comparing grapefruits with strawberries.
I responded that I assume that you can find probably more beer gardens around the Wörthsee than around Lake Erie. At least places which qualify as a real beer garden.
Pfarrkirche St. Johannes d. Taeufer - many thanks to "ufus46" and Wikipedia
Unfortunately, the weather was overcast and we didn't want to take a swim in this "pond" which is considered to be one of the warmest lakes in Bavaria. Elizabeth is not fond of cold, refreshing water.
Please also consider taking a cruise on the Ammersee which is also close by. We have seen a very antique looking boat with tourists. However, I don't know whether it's still in service, but I think it will be.
You can always make good use of your camera or video equipment. I used mine, but everything is in PAL format and I can't watch the videos now unless I get them converted.
In Inning you should do some sightseeing and don't miss a beer garden when the weather is good. Visit the church shown on the left.
After we left Germany, I read that in 1021 Kaiser Heinrich II stayed with 60,000 troops overnight in Inning. Maybe a reason to stay here too!
