Falkenstein is well known for the successful plays which have taken place for the past 25 years in the court of the castle. Many of the actors are local people but the producers are professionals.

The construction of the castle started in 1074. It had many owners. Today the community of Falkenstein is responsible for maintaining it. They did a wonderful renovating job. Not only the annual plays in the courtyard of the castle are an attraction but also the concerts, the tower, a hunting museum (closed in November) and a restaurant - of course.
