Coat of arms Dingolfing-Landau region

The Dingolfing-Landau Region:

The Dingolfing-Landau Region is well known to Bavarian tourists who want stay away from the hustle and bustle of the famous tourist centers of Upper Bavaria.
They come to enjoy the unspoiled nature, the local festivities, the good food and the good beer or they do some sightseeing and participate in one of the offered activities such as horse back riding, biking, walking, fishing, wind surfing (on ponds according to Elizabeth, my wife) or learn something about the past in one of the museums.
If you come to this region explore especially Dingolfing and Landau but also some of the smaller villages. It is a pleasure to drive through the hills, to stop at a river or a forest for a picnic.
If you enjoy hiking there is always an opportunity to do so.
If you miss golfing go to the valley of the Vils. In Reisbach you can visit an amusement park, called "Bayern-Park". Here you and your kids will probably spend a whole day by sampling the various rides.
Visit some of the old churches, museums and little castles to get some impressions about the past of this region.

Close to Frontenhausen we discovered another artificial lake - the "Vilstalstausee". It was built to prevent flooding from the river Vils. You can do there some water sport and visit the nature reserve.
