Bad Feilnbach was missing for along time in our Internet tourist guide for Upper Bavaria. Unfortunately Elizabeth was not with me when I visited this beautiful place. Elizabeth had to stay in Canada. We promised each other never to do that again. Especially, because she wants to go on a "Kur" (health cure) and we should find the right place together.
I think Bad Feilnbach could be one of the places, which would suit us for a so called "Kur". Beautiful, quiet and clean and very friendly people except one.
When I tried to talk to the owner of one of the places to get some detail information, a woman acted so stupid and unfriendly that I almost left the village. Luckily I did not like her place anyhow and good people calmed me down after. It is obviously true that you can find idiots all over the world. She is number one on my world wide list.
Parking was absolute no problem. It was free as in most of the villages i have visited. You only must select the right places and you must have a so called "Parkscheibe" with you. It looks like a clock made out of cardboard and you adjust it to the time when you arrive on the parking lot. Normally you get two hours of free parking with
You can get this "Parkscheibe" for free on gas stations. Good car rental companies should through one in each car.
A beer and a good pizza helped to calm me down
After my bad experience in the "Kur- und Reha-Klinik Diem", I suppressed my urge to leave Bad Feilnbach. However I decided to enjoy today none Bavarian food. So I went to an Italian restaurant, had a delicious thin crust crunchy pizza with a "Weißbier.".
Then I strolled around, talked to friendly people and got all the information, I was looking for.
All this happened a few years ago and I hope that this unfriendly and arrogant woman has been retired and somebody else took over. Unfortunately I was not able to find a review for this clinic on the Internet.
Nice and quiet
A monument for soldiers who lost their lives
A beautiful country side with a relaxing atmosphere made me soon feel better and people greeted me when I was driving by.
Almost no traffic
To stay in Bad Feilnbach doesn't mean that you will miss anything. All the highlights of the Bavarian Alps can be reached easily by car or even with public transportation.
I would prefer biking to hiking
I told Elizabeth about my experience. She was a little bit disappointed that I did not book already a place for both of us. But she realizes, it is not cheap to go on a "Kur" (health cure) when you have to pay everything out of your own pocket.
However, she asked me, why did you not offer a large German and English web site for it in return? I told her that I did this, but the people I approached did not even know whet they don't know, so they believe they know everything better and nothing turned out. Same story in Canada!
