A visit to the "Avenida Therme" a health spa in Hohenfelden, Thuringia
Part 2

We were at the beginning of the heat wave which also hit Europe. The outdoor pools are an attraction in every season. So we made continuously use of the direct connection to the outdoor facilities.
In Thuringia you have almost everywhere clean air and even on a hot day it is enjoyable outside. Very much was done to keep the pollution down.
Even the "Avenida Therme" is using solar panels which produce a little bit of electrical power as you can see in the right picture below.
Most spas have an outdoor part with pools, playgrounds, lawn chairs and much more. So does the Avenida Therme. We just loved it.
You will find water slides here. One is for the little ones the other ones for older kids and adults which still feel young or who accompany their little children. This slides end in the lower level of the spa.
We strolled around and became excited about the beautiful garden.

We hope that you got a good impression what to expect in the "Avenida Therme" which is located close to Kranichfeld. Also Weimar can be reached easily.
We will ask the management to send us some "censored" pictures from the sauna area. We did not want to take the camera with us to do them by ourselves.
As already said at least in Germany the dress code demands that you go in the nude. If you want to draw attention just ignore that and see what happens.
You must not be ashamed if you do not qualify to participate in a beauty contest. Most people don't. You will find whole families there with kids and older people with overweight.
You also will not find only one sauna but a variety of them with different temperatures and different scents.
Do not forget to bring a large towel with you. In most saunas - except in the steam bath - this is mandatory. You must sit on it. In the steam sauna use the provided hose to clean the seta before you sit down and before you leave. Have fun!
