Bad Aibling has been a well known health spa since the middle of the 19th century.
The local bog is the source of the healing mud used in the treatment of various conditions from arthritis to diseases of the skin.
Now a nice spa has been added, but so far we had no chance to visit it because we explored Thuringia. Both of us became addicted to the spas which we found there. I am confident that the spa in Bad Aibling would be also a major attraction for us.
We lived very close to Bad Aibling and made weekly visits to this village, where the "Glonn" a small creek, flows into the river "Mangfall". A good colleague of mine had his home here. We either enjoyed a home-cooked meal or dined out at one of the many great restaurants.

We did lots of sightseeing and window shopping. Everything was new for Elizabeth and I loved it watching her talking to the vendors in her little German.
When I helped her I always got compliments about my excellent German.
All this could take hours.

For me the numerous local celebrations and other events were something normal. In Bavaria we used every chance to have a party and fun. Many business decisions were made having some beer together.
For Elizabeth all this was new. The music, the "Trachten" (Costumes still worn by the people living in a specific area.) and even the typical Bavarian food. Now she became a vegetarian and could only enjoy a few of the offered Bavarian delicatessen such as a "Radi" (radish), "Obatzter" (made of ripe Camembert) or "Steckerlfisch" (a mackerel barbecued on a stick)
A local celebration
I think the next time we come to Germany we must spend a week there to get pampered and enjoy the many concerts; even an opera or operetta in the "Kurhaus". Naturally, I will also walk with Elizabeth, because I am getting so lazy and need some exercise. The local park, called "Kurpark" will do it - I hope.
The park is really very beautiful - and not to far from good restaurants
We are still in the park
I learned that Bad Aibling's history dates back more than two thousand years and that the old Romans played an important role here.
