Please explore the southwestern part of Ontario. Some people call it the banana belt or even Ontario's Riviera. But please do not search for real palm trees, banana bushes, jelly fish or international known hotels on a beach. You will be disappointed.
However, this part of Ontario offers also many things which make your vacations to an enjoyable unforgettable event.
It is more populated than the north and offers a huge variety of attractions and activities during the summer months. We try to give you a brief overview what to expect and we do not start with a listing of hotels and eateries. It is a necessity that you find accommodations and restaurants and nobody comes from far away just to find that. It is up to the individual businesses to advertise their services.
Many visitors are surprised to learn that this part of our province is on the same latitude as northern California or the middle of Italy.
You will find beautiful parks, beaches for sun bathing and swimming, all kind of outdoor activities, conservation areas, historical places, annual events, theatres and much, much more. Just browse through our tourist guide. We continuously will add something, such as sightseeing tours, visits to events and updates to places which we already have included in our Internet presentation of Ontario.
We hope that you will love it here and spend a few days in this beautiful area. There is no lack of accommodations - motels, hotels B & B's, resorts, cottages and places for camping.
Port Stanley
During our last trip to Point Pelee we stopped again at Port Stanley. We loved it so much that we would like to spend a few days here and prepare eventually a ddicated web site for this place.
Port Stanley
Port Stanley - an antique railway car
Train service started already in 1856. The railway connected London with Port Stanley until the service was ceased in the fifties.
Train rides are still offered today. Some of them with live enetrtainment on board.

Please take it easy and relax. Do not only drive on the main highways, use side roads and you may discover many little things which you would miss otherwise.
When you explore the north shores of Lake Erie and you find some interesting motives, please send them to us. We will use them with a thank you note.
Stop at fruit stands and buy some local grown fruits of the season - we always do that.
