Port Rowan a little village located on the shores of Lake Erie looks like a part of paradise to me because I do not like noise and "bustling" activities.
It is certainly a good and quiet place to stay if you want to relax and explore the surrounding area. There is so much to see and to do.
Great Provincial Parks are close by with direct access to Lake Erie for swimming, hiking, bird watching, canoeing, enjoying protected fauna and flora. Just use the links which have provided to some of them or search the Internet.
They offer great camping facilities.
We have to visit Long Point again. We were there in winter and we loved it even then. We did some hiking. (I did not have any problems with that at this time.) Also Turkey Point is not far away.
But you must not necessary travel with a motor home or put up a tent to enjoy all that. Look for a nice B & B or a clean motel.
It all depends what you want and of your budget.
Port Rowan welcomes you

The cozy harbour
Fishing is always a relaxing sport. But do not forget to get a permit!
Certainly an interesting offer
I did not use a motor boat for a long time and I believe that you must have now some kind of a permit. Just ask if you are interested to rent one. Otherwise book a tour.
If you are not from North America and you are interested in renting a sailboat I only can tell you that I failed completly to help a party from Europe who wanted to rent one for several weeks. Power boats and Ski-Doos seem always to be availble. I hope that will change in future.
Why not participate in a cruise?
The "Boat House Restaurant"
Unfortunately, I arrived at the wrong time and had eaten before. For that reason it was easy for me to postpone a visit to this nice looking restaurant to my next visit. Elizabeth, my wife should accompany me. Then a lunch or dinner is much more enjoyable and hopefully she can have one of her favorites - boiled fish.
As a European living now in Canada I still cannot understand that restaurants do not display their menu on the outside of their place. This would attract people and also prevent disappointment.
I proposed this several times but nobody listens to me. Finding excuses for the dwindling tourism business means obviously: "Job well done!".
However, I made a similar experience in Thuringia, Germany. It is like talking to sick cows.
