Port Dover is very often our destination when we want to show our friends a nice little town on Lake Erie which still has its own original character and offers many things to do and to see for visitors.
I was told that Port Dover had once the largest freshwater fishing fleet in the world. During our visits I got the feeling that not too much of that is left.
Most of our friends like to eat fish and we always went to a good restaurant directly on the shores of the lake. Many dishes with obviously local fish were on the menu. I am more a meat eater, but I also got excellent food.
Naturally most people do not come to indulge sea food. They come for activities and sightseeing. They found here the right place. Certainly many things depend of the season. Don't forget your swim wear in summer - the beach is great. Stop at the Port Dover Museum. Please use the installed links to learn what to expect. We will add more in 2009.
