Many thanks for the great service

From Dunnville to Caledonia
The course of the Grand River
Many thanks to MapArt for allowing us to use their maps
Please use also "Google Earth". You can download this helpful program for free . It provides additional information.
This stretch shows you much more from the Grand River. It is not a long drive, but we recommend that you stop several times.
Please do not follow Highway 3, but turn shortly after Dunnville to the left and follow the sign Cayuga. This is the scenic route!
On the road
If you like what you see in our web site, get information about guided boat tours. We wanted to book one, but the tour operator never responded to our request. Maybe there are others now.
I think that you can see much more from the scenery when you are in boat than driving on the road.
The Grand River is very shallow in this area. For that reason you see many fisherman standing in the middle of it.
Some of the houses are really worth to see
Leave the main road a make little side trip. There is always something to discover. You can even find some B & B places, but most tourist come with motorhomes or have campers stationed in one of the camp sites.
Cayuga
Not too many visitors on "Canada Day" in Cayuga
Also for Cayuga we have prepared a brief web site.
Bridge over the Grand River in Cayuga
If you have a fishing license, and like to fish here is your chance. Familiarize yourself also with the applicable regulations.

More fishermen
Quiet and relaxing
"Catch and release", is very popular. Carl, who caught this fish and presented it proudly, took it carefully of the hook and put it back into the water. He held it until the fish had recovered from the shock and was able to swim away.
This fish was not eaten, but allowed to go back into the water
"Bird watching" - a favorite hobby
"Bird watching" has become an essential part of the tourism business. Certain Provincial Parks are well know for the variety of birds which you can find there.
The Grand River is also a destination for bird lovers.
The Grand River close to York. Can you see the fisherman?
On the road
Please visit our web site for Caledonia.
The last time I visited this township, everybody celebrated peacefully "Canada Day" (2008).
