I am a maverick compared to many other people because I do not like gambling and I do not believe that I would win a fortune. Naturally, I know when you do not dare to gamble you cannot win. I tried it a few times but I decided to spend my money for things I need or love.
Years ago I went with my son and his wife to the first casino in Niagara Falls. This experience kept me away. I only played one time and lost everything - 25 cent. I did not like it. I purchased one beer in a tiny little glass for $ 4.50, visited after that the flooded rest room and was happy when we drove home.
I learned that many things have been improved since that. A friend who loves gambling, invited me to the lunch buffet. There are now two casinos - the old one and a new one.
As a good customer he received a special pass which gives him many benefits such as free valet parking. You can also get free tickets for certain events.
In order to pay for all that the casino naturally hopes that you lose lots of money - otherwise they could end like GM.
I loved the buffet and the friendly service and the restrooms were now very clean.

A very elegant atmosphere with classy stores which you do not see to often. Certainly a good place do some shopping. Some stores offered discounts up to 50%.

Restaurants for fine dining. Some of them are open for 24 hours. Certainly a place to celebrate if you won a large sum.

I was impressed by the outdoor settings. Nice plants, no litter, and everybody was in a good mood.
The various observation decks animated even me to walk - after an accident I have problems, eventually also because of my age.

I recommend to include visit of this place when you come to Niagara Falls. As I said, you must not gamble. Enjoy a good meal, buy tickets for a show, do some shopping and sightseeing.

Another surprise. I never expected to se e wildlife in this pretty setting with so many visitors - a raccoon.
We live in downtown Welland and I certainly I should not have been surprised. We have lots of companions in our backyard - straying cats, at least one opossum, a skunk, and also raccoons's. After all these animals are well fed by Elizabeth, they do not do any damage to our property and hardly fight with each other.
Only occasionally the cats become bored from getting served always the same food and we find some left overs of birds. They never eat the feathers!
