Marshville is part of Wainfleet and not far away from Welland where we live and we like this pretty village.
In 2010 we decided to visit the annual "Marshville Heritage Festival" which always takes place on the long week end at Labor Day at the beginning of September.
Many volunteers spent lots of hours and money to make this exciting event happen which focuses on the life in the middle of the 19 th century.
Naturally with many exemptions, such as an antique car show. There were no automobiles around 1850! We do not want to replace an actual visit of this great family event. We only want to encourage to come and enjoy it.
What a nice welcome
We just followed the posted signs to find the place where the event took place. Everything was well organized. Sufficient free parking was provided and a shuttle bus brought us directly to the gate where we received a very friendly welcome as you can see above.
All these antique cars were built in the 20 th century
A Buick from 1932
It was lunch time when we arrived and the visitors loved to eat here
Many came in costumes
"Hot Kettle Soup with Bread" for $ 2,50
"Pig on a Bun"
Line ups at every food stand
Making apple butter
Be prepared to do some walking to see all the attractions and vendors. Don't stay at home when you have to use a scoter. I saw a few handicapped people there using them.
The festival covers lots of ground
