When you drive along the main street (Highway) you will even see a few European clubs. French missionaries arrived here already in 1669.
You are still in the part of our province which is well known for growing tobacco. This is celebrated every year in September with a "Tobacco Harvest Festival".
A "Tobacco Museum" was built in 1979. Besides other things it shows detail from the history of processing tobacco.
