Collingwood is well known in Ontario for winter sport. Downhill skiing, snow boarding and much more are offered.
When we came for the first time to the "Blue Mountains" how the tourist area is called, I almost thought to be in the European Alps, but only almost. Still it is nice, but we are not skiers and I am still used to the European flair.
What I really loved was the Georgian Bay. We stayed during our first visit in a nice hotel and got pampered. Unfortunately, we had heavy rain, but we purchased anoraks made out of Goretex which protected us pretty good. We still have them.
However, we did not tour the "Scenic Caves". We will do this hopefully in 2009 when we want to improve our Internet presentation for Southwestern Ontario. We toured many places after our first approach to this great region, but during a break in all our notes and pictures were lost when our computer was stolen. All the shown pictures are borrowed.
During our next visit we had sun shine and I enjoyed the water. For Elizabeth, my wife, it was still too cold. She almost freezes in a bath tub.
I earlier days Hurons settled in this area. They are gone - only their "Worshipping Rock" is still there.
