After a severe surgery Elizabeth, my wife, went with a friend from our "Brethren in Christ Church" to Camp Kahquah in beautiful Magnetawan for recovery. The brief program was called "Indian Summer Retreat".
She had a real good time, enjoying the spiritual messages, the singing and all the outdoor and indoor activities with other Christians and real friendship.
All the shown pictures have been taken by Elizabeth. As you can see the weather was beautiful - as the name "Indian Summer Retreat" had promised.
 The main lodge
Dining room, launch in back with view of the lake
The church group did not have to use their own cars. A comfortable bus was provided for transportation. So everybody arrived safely and relaxed.
I was very relieved about that and did not worry too much, which I normally do. Especially the return trip by bus after all the activities made me feel good.
Greeting with none alcoholic punch and refreshments
Elizabeth is not a great eater and she prefers vegetarian food. The kitchen staff had been informed about that and provided special dishes with lots of vegetables, fruits etc. for her.
I personally would have enjoyed all the good things which they offer for none vegetarians.
 Lounge area
Both of us are readers and I am sure that Elizabeth spend some hours in the launch reading books which she always carries with her.
She told me that she was fascinated with the beautiful sights and the unspoiled nature.

As you can see it was an elderly crowd which came to the "Indian Summer retreat". It is especially tailored for retirees and I am sure that Elizabeth was considered as a youngster.
Visit the official web site of Camp Kahquah and you will see that they have also special programs for children. Please use the search functions, I had so many dead links in my web sites because organizations are changing continuously their Internet address. |
