Please reserve some time for Brantford.
It has a population of about 85 000. You will find here awarded gardens and parks and some interesting museums.
You cannot miss it!
If you have any chance, travel along the "Grand River" to get to Brantford. This is a scenic and relaxing drive.
One of the museum in the city is dedicated to Alexander Graham Bell, the "Canadian" inventor of the telephone.
Obviously nobody here has ever heard anything about Philip Reis. He started years earlier with a different concept which proofed not to be as successful.
Another interesting place to visit is the Military Museum.
The "Military Museum" does not only show military equipment
The volunteers are very helpful in explaining everything
My father in law was extremely interested
But Brantford with its "suburban" Paris has more to offer. Especially when you come from overseas we recommend to spend some time in Ohsweken on the Grand River to visit the reserve of the "Six Nations on the Grand River". Before you do so, please collect and read respective information which you should get at many tourist offices for free.
It is always helpful and much more exciting to come with some basic knowledge. Visit the "Woodland Cultural Centre". Do not hesitate to talk the native people. They are very friendly and knowledgeable.
Also ask for upcoming events. Something is going on almost every month.
Don't forget to purchase some good souvenirs. Almost everybody liked the hand made moccasins. Ask the native people about the purpose of dream catchers, masks and other art work. It is interesting to know and you can explain many things to your friends at home. Also ask for upcoming events. Something is going on almost every month.
Please do not ignore our native people
Looks nice - but the disaster area is around the corner

Certain parts of downtown were during my last visit in a very poor shape and it is heart breaking to see that. I believe only a good and experienced investor could change this. It would be a great benefit for Brantford.
The casino
Casinos are spreading all over Ontario. If you like gambling and can stop in time - try your luck. You are certainly welcome.
If you never have been in Paris you should not miss the chance to do this when you are in this area. It is very close to Brantford. You will not have any chance to see it for less money. We liked it very much despite the cold weather.
