I consider Bayfield to be a great place for somebody who wants to spend relaxing and peaceful days on Lake Huron.
You will not discover all the treasures Bayfield has to offer when you stay on Highway 21. Make a turn towards the lake and you will be surprised. Many well kept heritage houses, fine restaurants, stores and even art galleries will catch your eye.
It is a place were we would love to live.
An impression of Bayfield - the Little Inn
We wanted to spend winter vacations here, but unfortunately we had to change our plans. Elizabeth, my wife wanted to spend a whole day just to explore all the boutiques and other stores. Because my walking is not any longer the greatest she would have to do this on her own.
She loves to talk to the shop owners and certainly would pick up some unique gifts.

Little unique stores attract shoppers
We hope that we can enjoy Bayfield again in summer 2009. Sandy beaches are an attraction for both of us. Elizabeth loves to read in the sun. I prefer the shade and love the water. I always feel like new born after a few hours of exercises in a lake or a swimming pool which does not contain an overdose of chlorine.
The restaurants I have seen will certainly provide excellent meals.
Lake Huron seen from the "Pioneer Park"
One of the beaches in Bayfield
The "Pioneer Park" is privately owned. It is pretty small and well kept. I hope that it will not be purchased by an investor.
We parked close to it and used the wooden stairs down to the beach. Because it was October nobody was there.
