The mandatory prerequisites are that you have read the well written "Instruction Manual" which comes with each unit before you start using it. For French speaking customers this manual is also available in the French language. Please indicate this when you order and we will replace the English manual by the French one without charge. (Unfortunately we do not speak French very well!)
We also recommend that you familiarize yourself extensively with the "Treatment Book" before you start the first time using the unit. Read the basic information first - do not jump directly to the page which is dedicated to your health problem! You will find everything you need to operate the unit. If you learned about our "Acuhealth Pro 900" through a treatment by a professional watch him and ask questions. That what we did. It is also essential that you follow strictly the sequence in treating the so called "energy" or "stimulation" points which are defined for the different treatments. They are defined based on an extensive experience and you should not deviate. Also obey the warnings and the advice to see a doctor first before you start certain treatments. Don't take any risks! If you have any additional questions, please send us an e-mail and we will respond in writing. If necessary we will contact the Australian developer of "Acuhealth Pro 900". |

1. Look up your condition in the easy to follow treatment and instruction book.
2. Turn on the power. You will hear a sound and the green indicator light will show that the unit is ready. If not please check the battery.
3. Select the mode for stimulation which is recommended in the instruction manual. In case of any doubts: where pain is the predominant complaint use "Disperse (-)"
where stiffness is the predominant complaint use "Tonify (+)"
Note: If one mode does not give relief try the other mode. However, you should wait for about 12 hours before treating the same point in a different mode!
4. Adjust the sensitivity control to the condition of your skin - between "Wet" and "Dry". If you are not sure begin with a middle value.
5. Place the probe tip in the area defined in the instruction manual. Make sure that you can see the control light and that your thumb is placed on the contact plate and that your index or middle finger is placed above the "Stim" button. If you treat another person you must touch their skin with your other hand to establish a circuit during searching and stimulation the treatment points - otherwise it will not work!
6. Hold the "Acuhealth Pro 900" at between 45 and 90 degrees to the skin's surface and move the probe slowly over the skin in the vicinity of the point using sufficient pressure to maintain skin contact, but not hard enough to "drag" on the skin. Do not "jab" the skin. It may help to stretch the skin to allow the probe to move more freely., As you approach the stimulation point the pitch of the sound will rise and the light will flicker. When you are directly over the stimulation point the sound will reach the highest pitch and the light will go out.
Note: Hearing impaired people may not be able to hear the high pitched sound, but can use the indicator light as a reference!
After the point has been located, apply more pressure on the skin until you feel the probe will not slip off. However, you only need contact, do not press in painfully.
Press the "Stim" button for between 30 and 60 seconds.
Note: If you have difficulty finding a stimulation point use one of the following measures: The skin may be too dry - move the "Sensitivity Control" more to "Dry".
You may not be applying enough pressure - increase the pressure to the skin slightly.
The electrical contact between your thumb and the contact plate may be poor because the skin of your thumb is too dry - moisten the thumb.
Note: If you are locating too many points when searching, use one of the following measures: The skin is too wet - move the "Sensitivity Control" more to "Wet".
You may applying too much pressure - reduce the pressure to the skin slightly.

Note: .Naturally, it is more difficult to locate stimulation points in areas which you can only see by using a mirror. If you treat a "wrong" point, please do not panic - this does not pose any hazard!
:8. There is an "Intensity control" in the battery compartment which has been adjusted to the optimum setting by the manufacturer. Normally you should not touch it. If you have any questions please contact us by e-mail.
What you should feel
When stimulating some points you will feel nothing, on others a faint tingling sensation, while some may even be uncomfortable. In the last case it is an indication that these points are in need of stimulation and you may need to stimulate these points in short bursts until the stimulation becomes more comfortable.
However, for effective results to be obtained you do not need to feel a stimulus at the acupuncture point.
If your "Acuhealth Pro 900" feels too strong on all points contact us or Acuhealth Pty Ltd. for further advise on adjustments.

I am treating myself in the same way with my own unit after a serious accident. Sometimes I am getting up during the night to apply treatment in order to be able to sleep without the continuous pain. I am not using any painkillers since I have the "Acuhealth Pro 900". I even have the unit in my car when I travel. I am really happy that I learned about electro-acupuncture during my rehabilitation treatment in St. Catharines in "Hotel Dieu Shaver" and that I am one of the 85 % of people who respond positive to this kind of alternative treatment. |
