Turkey Point in Southwest Ontario
Turkey Point was always and still is on top of our list of places to explore when we leisurely drive on side roads as close as possible along Lake Erie on a sightseeing tour.
Unfortunately we were never able to enjoy the beautiful sandy beach. Either there was no close by parking available - I am handicapped or it was not the right season.
We live not far away and we never intended to stay over night. Now I changed this philosophy and will do that as soon as my wife Elizabeth has recovered after several surgeries.
When the weather was suitable we preferred other nit so crowded Provincial Parks on the lake. We never found any posted warnings about poor water quality. Luckily this service is provided by our government.
Still too early to enjoy beach live
The name Turkey Point goes back to the many wild turkeys which lived here and hopefully are not gone completely.
As I learned you must book an accommodation very early in the high season. Please use the Internet for a search and do not forget to read also the reviews. They may be very helpful!
Include also the surroundings of Turkey Point such as Port Ryerse or Port Rowan.

Parking is provided in front of the small turf followed by the busy road. On the other side are houses.
High season in Turkey Point
I did not check out any accommodations. We were only on a brief trip and leave that up to you.
