We always do some shopping when we travel to another province or to Europe. Our visitors do the same in Ontario. Because of the surcharges for exceeding the weight limits heavy items are not any longer purchased.
A good place for shopping is Toronto as long as you watch the prices. The best is to combine it with a sightseeing tour.
I was surprised when I was told that certain high priced items were cheaper than in Europe. I only hope that they were not faked imports.
Please check when you are wether you can still recover the paid sales tax!
We learned the hard way to check also the quality - not every name brand is an original in certain shops.
The are no limits in spending money as long as you are willing to do that.
The famous "Eaton Centre"
The famous "Eaton Centre"
Eatons has changed ownership but it is still an attraction for shoppers.
From the "Eaton Center" you have access to the huge underground shopping area. It is not only during winter a preferable location to escape extreme weather conditions. heat and high humidity can also be a reason to find a refuge.
I was impressed by the architecture and even of some of the eateries. Naturally you can also do some banking there.
The Path - many thanks to "Aardvark114 " and Wikipedia
Planing for that shopping center - now called the "Path" - started already in the 60-ties.
I never explored everything. I learned that you have to walk about 28 km to see everything. There are plans to extend that to 60 km.
We had very often problems to access it. Now the posted sign "Path" makes that easier
Access to the "Path" - many thanks to "Raysonho"and Wikipedia
Attractive architecture in the "Path"
Jewellery, clothing, gifts, computer almost everything what is needed or what you think that you must have can be found here.
For me it was an really interesting sightseeing tour in winter and I was happy that I could escape the ice cold wind. I had stopped here on my way back home.
