Visit and explore the Tourism Region: "Sault Ste. Marie – Algoma" Canada, Ontario, Tourism, Travel Guide
Coarse outline map for the tourism region 13b: "Sault Ste. Marie – Algoma"
Unfortunately the tourism region "Sault Ste. Marie - Algoma" did not have first priority in our travel plans for many good reasons.
Once we were really very close because we has an invitation from Dieter Heller from the " Three Oak Tourist Resort".
The pictures he had sent us and how he described everything pictures had inspired us to explore this area.
Then my wife became ill and we stayed home.
Many places on Lake Superior were recommended to me by Dieter Heller from the" Three Oak Tourist Resort".
Don't make the mistake when you spend longer holidays not to spend time in this remote region.
Batchawana Bay
Old Woman Bay
The "Little White River"
The "Sand River Cascades"
In Newfoundland and Labrador we had enjoyed nature and looked forward doing that here as well. In addition, I expect warmer lakes where I can swim to burn some calories. But I had no hope that Elizabeth would go further than ankle deep into the water. Even the really warm water in an indoor pool is usually too cold for her.
She prefers to lie in the blazing sun, which I can not stand. But both was offered here according to Dieter.
Many thanks to Paula Trus
On our travels through Newfoundland and Labrador we had looked in vain for the promised northern lights. You should be able to see them here as well. I'm really looking forward to that spectacle.
I will replace many of the borrowed photos with my own or add them. I am still suffering from the loss of many own pictures when my computer was stolen. Since I have an alarm system only garden furniture and garbage bins were stolen.
Der "Neys Provincial Park" am Lake Superior - many thanks to Kervstan and Wikipedia
Normally, during the months of July and August the water in Lake Superior is pleasantly warm for swimming for almost everyone.
You will find many natural sandy beaches mostly with plenty of space and clean water.
Be convinced by the videos taken by other visitors!
Make an adventure tour with a canoe that you can borrow. But please be careful before you leave and obey all safety instructions. You may also need to carry the boat occasionally.
Do not be afraid to come in autumn too. There you can enjoy the colors of the deciduous forests without being attacked by black flies.
