This region offers great beaches on Lake Huron and on the Georgian Bay, historical sites, interesting museums, downhill skiing in the Blue Mountains during winter and much more.
Just follow us to get inspired and explore on your own. Some of the YouTube videos from other donors are certainly also a great help. Many thanks to everybody who helped us to add more flavour to our alternative travel guide.
We missed many things because we traveled without booking accommodations in certain places or the available time and money restricted us from doing many things. We do all this without any financial support and must use all other available help.
Wiarton - "Purple Valley"- hike the "Bruce Trail" and you should not miss it
I consider "Discovery Harbour" as a live museum where you are being taken back to an old British naval base with replicas of historical ships.
Costumed staff shows you the living conditions on such as base. Click the link in the right column to see what we experienced there. Elizabeth and i loved the tour.
Visit "Discovery Harbour" in Penetanguishene
We also visited rebuilt "Sainte-Marie among the Hurons" was a French Jesuit settlement. You will find it close to Midland.
Again we created a German website and an English variant of visit. Please use the link!
In remembrance to the missionaries who lost their lives after being tortured the church "Martyr's Shrine" was built close by. Naturally we visited this place too.

Memorial place "Martyr's Shrine" in Midland
If you are in Midland I recommend to visit also the Huronia Museum called "Huron Quendat Village". It shows how the Hurons has lived in the past and adds more flavor to your visit of this region of Ontario.
The "Huron Quendat Village"
Naturally you should also enjoy real leisure time at the beaches on Lake Huron like that in Port Elgin to name only one of them. We cannot cover all of them with our Internet travel guide. Please use the internet to get more actual information about accommodations, prices etc.
The "historic" miniature train in Port Eging.
Especially your kids will love it in in Port Elgin. Now I would also. use the train - more dun than walking with s Rollator! Just watch the video!
