A visit to the Broom Point on the western coast of Newfoundland

I looked a little bit around and enjoyed the scenery, but followed fast the other visitors.
Bill Bennett had stayed in "his" building.
At least no rain and I was hoping that Elizabeth has a great time at the "Western Brook Pond"
Not very antique - almost like at home!
We were in a house which a few families had shared during the fishing season in summer.
For a long time there were no roads and they had to come and leave by boat.
There are still many remote areas in this province which cannot be reached by road. Boats, snow mobiles, air planes, helicopters, walking are the only way to reach them.
I did not consider the furnishing and equipment in this house to be antique. When I grew up during WWII in a small village in Germany it was very similar.
Unfortunately I was to late for lunch and to early for dinner. So the ladies did not do any cooking or preparing a meal. I certainly would have asked them for a small sample.
The Vikings in Norstead shared the freshly prepared flat bread with us and we all had a good time together, but we were the only visitors at this time.
We also checked the guest book to see were all the visitors had come from.
Surprisingly many from Ontario. Please do not forget to leave a note.
The tiny bed room looked very cozy and as you can see there was even a chamber pot under the bed. To visit the outhouse during the night and during bad weather was certainly not very pleasant.
Naturally at this time neither electrical power or running water were provided. As far as I remember I did not see anything like that during my visit of Broom Point, but they had an old radio on display.
Please visit the place and find out!
I did not stay much longer because I did not want to miss Elizabeth returning from her tour - so i left.
This house was not open to the public
Beautiful again - good bye Broom Point
